Description	:	Howard Loewe Lanning, age 89, of West Harrison, Indiana died Saturday, April 3, 2010 at McCullough Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford, Ohio. Born October 10, 1920 in Bath Township, Franklin County, Indiana he was the son of the late George C. & Stella (Loewe) Lanning. He was united in marriage to the former Martha Jean Myers, and she survives. He had attended the Mt. Read More	Howard Loewe Lanning, age 89, of West Harrison, Indiana died Saturday, April 3, 2010 at McCullough Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford, Ohio. Born October 10, 1920 in Bath Township, Franklin County, Indiana he was the son of the late George C. & Stella (Loewe) Lanning. He was united in marriage to the former Martha Jean Myers, and she survives. He had attended the Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church, and was a long time member of the Macedonia Christian Church, where he had served as a Deacon, and Elder Emeritus; a 56 year member of the Harmony Masonic Lodge #11 F. & A.M.; the Drewersburg Volunteer Fire Department for over 22 years; and had served on the Franklin County Council for 12 years from 1974 until 1986. Besides Martha Jean, his wife of over 67 years, survivors include three daughters & sons-in-law, Barbara (Claude) Thompson of Bethel, Ohio, Linda (Harry) Fox of Brookville, Indiana and Dodie (Jack) Ruby of Hamilton, Ohio; one son and daughter-in-law, Keith & Becky Lanning of Brookville, Indiana; two brothers, Irwin Lanning of Greensburg, Indiana and Kenneth Lanning of Brookville, Indiana; 11 grandchildren as well as 13 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Jean King. Rev. Andy Zinsmeister pastor of Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church will officiate the Funeral Services on Thursday, April 8, 2010, 11:00 A.M. at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home. Burial will then follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville where his grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Family & friends may visit from 4 till 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville, where Masonic Memorial Services will be conducted at 8:00 P.M.. Memorial contributions may be directed to the William & Betty Arthur Scholarship Fund administered through the Franklin County Community Foundation, or to the Franklin County E.M.S..
