Description	:	Howard Wesley Magruder, age 82, of Shelbina passed away April 26, 1984 at the Salt River Nursing Home in Shelbina where he had been a resident for the past three months following nearly three years of ill health. Mr. Magruder was born in Shelby County, Missouri, a son of the late Willis Jackson and Mary Virginia Kidwell Magruder. On August 16, 1934, he was united in marriage to Beatrice Eloise Brown at New London, Missouri. She survives. Mr. Magruder was born in Shelby County, Missouri, a son of the late Willis Jackson and Mary Virginia Kidwell Magruder. On August 16, 1934, he was united in marriage to Beatrice Eloise Brown at New London, Missouri. She survives. Also surviving are seven children, Dorothy Shoemyer of rural Clarence, Doris Jernigan, of Palmdale, California, John Howard Magruder of Lentenr, Richard Lynn Magruder of Lentner, Virginia Anne Douglass of rural Shelbyville, Nancy Moore of Rockford, Illinois and Joyce Hamilin of Lewistown, Missouri: 26 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; two sisters, Rubena Blackburn, and Vivian (Toots) Magruder, both of Shelbina. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers (Charles Franklin, Chester, Rolland, Everett, and Vernie) and one sister Velma Mae Jones. Mr. Magruder was a retired farmer from the Oak Ridge community. He was a member of the Oak Ridge Baptist church and served as a deacon of the church. He served as president of the Oak Ridge Cemetery Board and was very active in establishing the REA service to the Oak Ridge community and the rural areas. Mr. Magruder also served on the Oak Ridge school board for many years. Funeral services were held at Oak Ridge Baptist Church on April 28, 1984. Casket bearers were grandson-in-laws Gary Kidwell, Arthur Ratliff, David Strachan, Larry Hall and a great-nephew Danny Foreman.
