Eddie's brother Larry spoke about events in Eddie's life (below): "Ed was born on September 25, 1944, Pennington Gap, Virginia, and we moved to Nelson County in 1952 when Ed was 8 and I was 9. We moved from a coal mining town called Stonega, Va. Ed served in the military, US Coast Guard, entering on August 9, 1965. He lived in Louisiana during his service. After military he lived a short while in Nelson County with his parents. (he was there when the big flood came) He married Margaret Ann Wright on April 30, 1966 in Lynchburg, Virginia. They had one child, Margaret Sue, born on September 1, 1968. Ed and Maggie moved to Asheville, North Carolina where he went to school and worked several part time jobs while in school. Most of his career he worked for Revco Drug Stores, from store manager to the area manager for Alabama and Mississippi. They moved back to Savannah Georgia, where he worked as a store manager and after that he was self-employed for several years. He died on January 11, 2015, in Savannah, Georgia at age 70." The service was closed with a song, "Going Home," followed by a time of fellowship in the church with refreshments served by the ladies of the church.
