Description	:	Maggie Boyd, 62, Savannah, GA., passed away peacefully on September 7, 2005, at her residence. Maggie was very involved in her community and work. She has been a resident of Savannah, GA. since 1989. As a teacher of 27 years in the Georgia public school system, she had received many awards, including being nominated for Who's Who Among America's Teachers two times. She loved her many students that she taught over the years, most recently as the Search Program teacher at Thunderbolt Elementary. Read More	Maggie Boyd, 62, Savannah, GA., passed away peacefully on September 7, 2005, at her residence. Maggie was very involved in her community and work. She has been a resident of Savannah, GA. since 1989. As a teacher of 27 years in the Georgia public school system, she had received many awards, including being nominated for Who's Who Among America's Teachers two times. She loved her many students that she taught over the years, most recently as the Search Program teacher at Thunderbolt Elementary. Maggie was active in many organizations throughout her life, including the Eastern Star, the American Legion auxiliary, Phi Delta Kappan, and was a Girl Scout Leader and a Sunday School teacher at First Baptist Church in Bainbridge, GA. She graduated from Carson-Newman College with her B.S., and Georgia Southern College with her Master's Degree in Education. Maggie was also a loving mother and wife. Maggie is survived by her husband of 39 years, H. Edward Boyd of Savannah, GA., her daughter, M. Sue Boyd of San Diego, CA., two sisters, Henrietta Timmons of Raleigh, N.C., and Betty Lyman of Lynchburg, VA., numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held 2-4 p.m. Saturday, September 10, 2005 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors Islands Chapel. Graveside Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at Jonesboro Cemetery in Roseland, Virginia with the Reverend John Campbell officiating.
