He was born February 9, 1854, in Montgomery County, Indiana, the son of John and Eliza Lane Galey and was married January 22, 1879 to Maria Arel, who died March 26, 1927 he was the last of the family of seven children and is survived by one son, Grover C. Galey of Ottumwa and a daughter, Flora Galey at home and by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three daughters Bonnie, Anna and Mrs. Dessie James. Funeral services were held at 1:30 PM today at the Johnson funeral Chapel in charge of the Rev. John Hastie. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery with the following pallbearers serving; Laura Beagle, Vern Wilson, George F. Bailey, Sam Burggaaf, Ed Stout W. H. McBride.
