Read More	Despondent, owing to his own ill health and sickness in his family, Hugh Leroy Poling, aged 31, a farmer living two and one-half miles northwest of Albion, on this farm of his mother-in-law, Mrs Hannah Wiley, committed suicide at about 5:45 this morning by shooting himself twice through the heart with a 22 caliber rifle. At 6:15 when Poling, who had arisen at about 5:30 to do his chores, was long in getting back to the house for breakfast, Miss Mabel Arney, a cousin of Mrs Poling, who makes her home with the Polings, went to the barn to see what had become of Poling. Not finding him about the premises, Miss Wiley became alarmed, and searched the hayloft. There she found the dead body of her cousin's husband. An examination by Dr Marble, of Liscomb, the family physician, resulted in finding that Poling shot himself twice through the heart with a 22 caliber rifle. The rifle was lying near the man's body. Poling had been suffering from melancholia for two weeks, due to what he feared was a nervous breakdown. He had worried a great deal over his wife's illness, and the sickness of the three children. Mrs Poling is suffering from a disease of the throat, due to an abcess, and the children have been ill of a glandular trouble. Coroner Boucher was notified of Poling's death and went to the Poling farm. He decided an inquest unnecessary after investigating the circumstances surrounding the death. Poling came to this county eleven years ago, and for a few years worked for different farmers in the Albion neighborhood. On June 8, 1908, in this city, he was united in marriage with Miss Daisy Wiley, daughter of Mrs Hannah and the late Benjamin Wiley. Mr and Mrs Poling went to housekeeping on the old William Arney farm, two miles northwest of Albion, where they lived until August, when they went on the Wiley farm. Poling was a native of Shelby county, , where he was born March 31, 1883. In addition to his wife and three sons, Harold aged 4, Clarence 2 years old and Cleo aged 1, Mr Poling is survived by his parents, Mr and Mrs Arthur Poling; and a brother, Vere Poling, and a sister, Mrs Albert Jones, all of Albion. Mr Poling was a member of the Methodist church of Albion, and Rev C E Luce, pastor of the church, will have have charge of the funeral, which will be held from the Poling home at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon.
