Description	:	Hugo Wieland, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Q. Wieland, married Nell Klink, the daughter of John and Nell Klink on July 1, 1942 at the St. Mary's Church east of Dazey. Hugo and Nell lived on the home farm until March, 1943 when they moved to the Stevens farm by the Wieland Dam. In December of that year, Hugo moved a house they had bought from Leal, North Dakota to the farm and Gib Amann remodeled it. Wieland, married Nell Klink, the daughter of John and Nell Klink on July 1, 1942 at the St. Mary's Church east of Dazey. Hugo and Nell lived on the home farm until March, 1943 when they moved to the Stevens farm by the Wieland Dam. In December of that year, Hugo moved a house they had bought from Leal, North Dakota to the farm and Gib Amann remodeled it. On January 4, 1945 Jerome was born and on April 30, 1948 Jeanette was born, which was the year of the spring flood. Because of the building of the Baldhill Dam, they were forced to move up on the hill and start over again. Walt Amann helped Hugo plant trees, and build the house and farm that later became known as "America the Beautiful". Hugo enjoyed hunting, baseball, playing in the Dazey band and singing in the St. Mary's choir. In the winter of 1971, Hugo and Nell moved into their new house two and one-half miles east of Dazey. Nell and Hugo always worked side by side. In 1975, Hugo retired after selling both farms to his son, Jerome. The last few years Hugo's health began to fail and he passed away September 4, 1981, leaving his wife Nell, his son Jerome and wife Peggy Jo and their children Melanie and Aaron, his daughter Jeanette and husband Jim Persons and son Jeff of Valley City.
