Description	:	Hulda Anna Pope, daughter of Dr. Karl and Belle Steiger, was born January 27, 1893, at Monroe, Wis. She passed away March 13, 1969, at Mary Lanning Hospital at Hastings at the age of 76 years, 1 month and 15 days. Hulda graduated from Sutton high school in 1912. She received a degree from the University of Nebraska in 1919. She was the 17th lifetime member of the Nebraska University Alumni Association. She passed away March 13, 1969, at Mary Lanning Hospital at Hastings at the age of 76 years, 1 month and 15 days. Hulda graduated from Sutton high school in 1912. She received a degree from the University of Nebraska in 1919. She was the 17th lifetime member of the Nebraska University Alumni Association. January 6, 1920, she was united in marriage to Henry Pope at York. She resided on a farm near Grafton until her death. No children were born to this union, but their nephews, Wayne and Gayle Steiger, made their home with them since infancy. Preceding her in death were her parents, and two brothers, Karl, who died in infancy, and Max Steiger of Sutton. Surviving is her husband Henry and a host of nieces and nephews and many friends. She was a past matron of the Eastern Star Lodge No. 54 and in 1966 was presented her 50-year membership pin. She was also a 58-year member of the Rebekah Kensington, Eugenia Lodge No. 34 of Sutton, and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Fairview Extension Club for many years. She was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Lushton. Funeral services were held Monday, March 17, at 2 p.m. at the Federated Church, Sutton.
