To this union were born seven children, three girls, and four boys, Sina, John Lewis, C. Addison, Gilbert, Minnie, Lois and Arthur. The father and four of the children, John Lewis, Gilbert, Minnie and Arthur, were waiting for her on the other shore. Read More	Obit "WRIGHT Huldah Jane Mechem was born in Belmont County, OH on June 10, 1833. She was married to T.T. Wright June 9, 1852. To this union were born seven children, three girls, and four boys, Sina, John Lewis, C. Addison, Gilbert, Minnie, Lois and Arthur. The father and four of the children, John Lewis, Gilbert, Minnie and Arthur, were waiting for her on the other shore. At the age of 14 she weilded to the persuasion of the Savior's voice and for 59 years she lived in and walked with her Savior. Mother Wright and husband moved to Illinois in 1855 where they lived until 1882 when they moved to Holton. The father, T.T. Wright, and the son Arthur bade them farewell and went beyond the stars. For years Mother has been a very great but exceptionally patient sufferer, yet she was never too ill, nor too nerve-racked with pain, to talk about her hope in Jesus Christ. Her life words and deed were ever an inspiration to all. We loved to call her "Mother" because of her kindness to us and her interest in us.On last Lord's day morning at 4:50 she was in the spirit. "Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord form henceforth: Yea, saith the spirit that they may rest from their labor and their works do follow them." Her departure was peaceful, for she was leaning on the promised "rod and staff." She leaves to mourn her departure, three children, Mrs. Allard, Mr. C. Addison and Miss Lois; three brothers, John G. Mechem, of Clarion, IA; L. Clark Mechem, of Centerville, IA; and W.S. Mechem of Washington, PA; and three sisters, Mrs. E. Moore of Beallsville, OH; Mrs. J.H. McFarland, of Belmont, Oh; and Mrs. S.J. Boyer of Bruce, WI. In addition she leaves a number of grandchildren, who loved her as dearly as though she had been their own mother, and a wide circle of friends, who will miss her sadly for although she had been for many years an invalid, she kept in close touch with the outside world, and especially with young people with whom she was a great favorite. The services were held at the home, on Tuesday at 2:30 and conducted by Rev. Mr. Purvis. He spoke in an impressive and tender manner from the text: "Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord." There was sweet and solemn music sung by Misses Lila Rose and Mae Roberts. The floral offerings were many and very beautiful. The city schools were dismissed by order of the Board of Education as a mark of respect to Miss Lois Wright, who has been one of the city teachers for many years."
