Description	:	Nashua Reporter January 13, 1955 Mrs. Hurtha Gerlena Barlow, whose home was once in the now crumbling but picturesque "House of the Seven Gables," in Old Bradford near Nashua, died Tuesday at the Jordan Nursing Home here. She would have observed her 93rd birthday April 18. She was familiarly known as "Sis" Barlow. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at the Little Brown Church, the Rev. Glenn L. Mrs. Barlow was born at Nashua April 18, 1862, the daughter of Richard and Mary Ellen Ripley Bean. She spent her girlhood here and then went to southern Minnesota, where she married George Avery. He preceded her in death as did one son, George Jr., who died in 1945. She married Grant Barlow at Austin, Minn., and they returned to this vicinity, later purchasing the old Bird mansion of the many gables and steep pitched roof. Mr. Barlow died in 1945. Her parents and a brother and two sisters also preceded Mrs. Barlow in death. She is survived by one brother David Bean of Nashua; and a sister, Mrs. Millie Boland, Cedar Rapids, and by several nephews and nieces. Mrs. Barlow went to the Nursing home four and a half years ago.
