Description	:	Ida Schmidt was born on June 15, 1913 to Peter and Kattie (Kunkle) Boese in Parker, SD. She was raised on a farm eight miles east of Parker and attended a country school two miles from their home and then attended and graduated from Parker High School. On January 20, 1935 she was united in marriage to Martin Schmidt in Parker, SD. Following their marriage, they farmed near Parker a short time before moving to a farm near Clear Lake, SD in 1938. She was raised on a farm eight miles east of Parker and attended a country school two miles from their home and then attended and graduated from Parker High School. On January 20, 1935 she was united in marriage to Martin Schmidt in Parker, SD. Following their marriage, they farmed near Parker a short time before moving to a farm near Clear Lake, SD in 1938. In 1972, they retired from the farm and moved into Clear Lake, SD. On January 26, 1988 Martin passed away. Ida continued living in her home in Clear Lake until February 4, 2004 when she entered the Deuel County Good Samaritan Center in Clear Lake. On Tuesday, June 10, 2008 Ida was transferred to the Sanford Deuel County Medical Center where she passed away on June 10, 2008 at the age of 94 years, 11 months and 26 days. Ida was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Clear Lake, SD. She was also a member of the Trinity Ladies Aid, Deuel County Farmers Union Organization and Clear Lake Senior Citizens. Ida loved flowers, crocheting, knitting, playing cards, and gardening. She is lovingly remembered by her two sons: Duane (Marie)Schmidt of Georgetown, TX and Dennis Schmidt of Las Vegas, NV; four grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Esther(Ron)Krause of Clear Lake, SD, Delores (Edward) Atyeo of Clear Lake, SD and Gladys (Loren) Christianson of Hendricks, MN and many nieces and nephews. Ida was preceded in death by her husband, parents, five brothers: Pete, Tope, Dave, Lawrence and Harry and four sisters: Alice, Nettie, Katie and Emily. Funeral services for Mrs. Schmidt will be Monday, June 16, 2008 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Clear Lake, SD. Rev. Michael Enderle will officiate. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery, Clear Lake, SD. Pallbearers will be Chuck Atyeo, Bob Atyeo, Dave Atyeo, Pete Eng, Michael Schmidt, and Robert Schmidt. Arrangements by Houseman Family Funeral Home in Clear Lake, SD.
