Description	:	Ida Catherine Waynant was born on her father’s homestead, two and one-half miles east of Holton and there spent her young womanhood. Her life was one which was useful and she was deeply sympathetic toward the needs of others. At an early age she assumed the responsibilities of a household. She cared for her nieces, Katherine Barber, from the time the latter was a tiny girl, and in this are she revealed the love and devotion true to the heart of a real mother. Read More	Ida Catherine Waynant was born on her father’s homestead, two and one-half miles east of Holton and there spent her young womanhood. Her life was one which was useful and she was deeply sympathetic toward the needs of others. At an early age she assumed the responsibilities of a household. She cared for her nieces, Katherine Barber, from the time the latter was a tiny girl, and in this are she revealed the love and devotion true to the heart of a real mother. Her interests in life and her enthusiasm was beyond the natural strength of her body. Often her tireless spirit almost overcame the flesh. Few people, in passing to eternal life, could leave hearts more sadly bereaved, and a place in the home which would be harder to fill. Though she had been in poor health, her fatal illness was brief. She was ill but five days until rest and peace came to a tired and suffering body on Thursday, November 29, 1928. She leaves to mourn her going her two brothers, Jeff and Chas. A of Holton; two sisters, Mrs. Dixie W. Barber of Holton, and Mrs. Margaret Ruble of Kansas City, and her niece, Katherine Barber, of Holton; also many neighbors and friends of the community are deeply shocked and saddened at the sudden loss one, whom to know, was to love. Funeral services were held at the funeral home Saturday afternoon conducted by Rev. Fred M. Newlin. Mrs. Robert Hurd sang two selections accompanied by Miss Doris Roebke on the piano.
