Description	:	Mrs. Ida Cain Died After Brief Illness Mrs. Ida Cain passed away at ten o'clock Thursday evening, Sept. 29, at the age of 76 years, at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Eugene Collins, of near Gilmore City. The cause of her death was a cerebral hemorrhage after an illness of only two days. Funeral services were held for Mrs. Cain at nine o'clock Monday, Oct. 3, in St. John's Catholic Church at Gilmore City with Rev. Clement Flannery officiating. The cause of her death was a cerebral hemorrhage after an illness of only two days. Funeral services were held for Mrs. Cain at nine o'clock Monday, Oct. 3, in St. John's Catholic Church at Gilmore City with Rev. Clement Flannery officiating. Interment was in St. John's cemetery at Gilmore City. Pallbearers were Joe Kizev of Milford, Joe Donnelly, Cletus Smith, Gus Baker and Tom Donohue, all of Gilmore City, and Harry Votlucka of Pocahontas. The deceased was born Ida Hettling and was the foster daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Austin Brown. She was born Aug. 9, 1879, in New York City. On Feb. 22, 1898, she was united, in marriage with John Cain in St. John's Catholic church, Gilmore City. The couple resided in the vicinity of Gilmore and in Lake and Garfield townships. After the death of her husband Mrs. Cain made her home intermittently with her three children, Mrs. Bernice Watson of Des Moines, Mrs. Eugene Collins and Clifford Cain of Pocahontas. A fourth child, a daughter, died in infancy. Other survivors include four grandchildren and one brother, Will Brown of Bradgate. Mrs. Cain was a member of the St. John's Rosary Society. She was always a loving and devoted mother and ever faithful to her church. Relatives and friends from a distance at the funeral were Andrew Jacobson, Bernice Jacobson and Alcius Jacobson from Marshall, Minn., Adam Jacobson and Mrs. Milo Hansen from Minneapolis, Minn., Mrs. Ben Price, Mrs. Ernie Nisser and Mrs. Eugene Payne, Des Moines; Mrs. Madge Engler, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Allen, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Engler, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Woods and Angela Collins of Fort Dodge and many relatives and friends from Pomeroy, Clare, Pocahontas, Laurens, Rolfe, Bradgate, Humboldt, Gilmore City, Pioneer and LuVerne.
