Description	:	IDA L. MICK Ida L. Mick was born in the Dominion of Canada, June 14, 1861. She lived there with her parents until she was eight years old when they moved to Wisconson, U. S. A., and later moved to Atlantic, Iowa. Here she grew to womanhood and married W. R. Mick, January 1, 1883. To this union were born five children. Mick was born in the Dominion of Canada, June 14, 1861. She lived there with her parents until she was eight years old when they moved to Wisconson, U. S. A., and later moved to Atlantic, Iowa. Here she grew to womanhood and married W. R. Mick, January 1, 1883. To this union were born five children. They are Mrs. Lou Surber, Wayne, Nebr.; Mrs. Clark Mossman, Leith, N. D.; Mrs. Donald Porter, Wayne, Nebr.; Mr. Otto Mick, Washington, Kansas; Mrs. Ed. Honey, Holton, Kansas. These children, and ten grandchildren survive her. She also leaves her husband, W. R. Mick of Washington, Kansas, and three brothers and two sisters. Mrs. Mick united with the Methodist Episcopal church in Carroll, Nebraska, about twenty-five years ago, moving from there to the Methodist church at Neosho, Mo., and later transferring her membership to the Methodist church, Holton, Kansas. She became a member of the Golden Rule Sunday school class in the Methodist church, Holton, and was highly regarded there while serving with the class, and always as a friend and comrade. She died Tuesday, January 26, 1926, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ed. Honey, in Holton, Kansas, where she had been for some weeks having come there from her home in Washington, Kansas, that she might have the care of her daughter in this time of suffering. Her acute illness, however was of only a few days duration, and she slipped away quietly to rest. "There is a land where beauty cannot fade, Nor sorrow dim the eye; Where true love shall not droop, nor be dismayed, And none shall ever die." The funeral services were held in the Methodist church at 2 o'clock, Friday afternoon, January 29, by the pastor, and interment was made in the Holton cemetery, Holton, Kansas R. O. Penick, Pastor Ida's paternal grandfather was a Loyalist during the Revolution and moved the family to Canada after the British were defeated. Ida's father moved the family back in the mid-1800s.
