Dubois DuBOIS, IDA MAE—Ida Mae Godfrey, daughter of Dewitt Clinton and Flaville Godfrey, was born in Dixon lee county, Illinois, January 16, 1867. She came to Nebraska with her parents in 1873 and settled on a farm near western. She peacefully passed away at her home in Geneva, Neb., at 8:50 p. m. Wednesday, February 122, 1936, aged 69 years and 27 days. She was united in marriage to Edward F. DuBois, January 24, 1886, at her home near Western. They started their married life on a farm near Western, where they resided twenty-six years. They moved to a farm southeast of Strang, where they resided six years. They came in 1918 to Geneva, where they have since resided. There were born to this union one daughter, Mrs. Ethel Mae Nickel of Bloomington, Cal., and seen sons, ray of Tobias, Roy of Western, George of Strang, Murray of Lomita, Cal., howard of Western, Donald of Shickley, and Verne of Strang. They and twenty grandchildren and her husband survive. She was the oldest of a family of three children, two of whom survive: Mrs. Minnie Rogers of Van Nuys, Cal., and Grover Godfrey of Seattle, Wash. Mr. and Mrs. DuBois celebrated their golden wedding anniversary January 24, 1936, at the home of their son Donald, with all their children living in Nebraska present. Mrs. DuBois was reared in a Christian home, and later was a member of the Methodist church at Geneva. She had her favorite hymns selected just before departing this life. Everything was done by her husband and children that loving hands could do. She was a loving wife and mother, and a kind neighbor. She will be greatly missed in the community where she lived. The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, February 18 at 1:30 at the residence and at 2 o'clock at the Methodist church, Rev. W. H. Shoaf officiating. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery.
