Tadlock Dies After Family Reunion 52-year Resident Passes Death Follows Mother's Day Gathering, Restful Sleep, Early This Morn In keeping with a wholesome philosophy of life to accept all things when they came and of which she often talked of to her intimates, Mrs. Addie May Tadlock suddenly laid down any burdens of life that she may have had at an early hour this morning at her home on Market street, when she died suddenly in the memories of an outstanding Mother's Day observation at her home, wherein practically all the members of her family were assembled. She arose very early to begin her day's activities, which were many even though she would have been 76 years of age next month. Mrs. Tadlock told members of her family who gathered to honor her yesterday, that she was not feeling well, but passed it off and joined in the festivities arranged for the important May day. Her heart gave out at about 6 o'clock this morning. HAD RESIDIED 52 YEARS HERE The deceased was a native of Illinois, but had resided in California for 55 years - 52 of them in Colusa. Her husband, Edward Wilson Tadlock, passed away about six years ago. She is survived by a son, Roy Tadlock, bicycle merchant of Colusa, and Mrs. Elodie Boyd of Williams; also two grandchildren, Mrs. Katherine Snelson of Red Bluff and Blanche Ravenor of Long Beach, and a sister, Mrs. Charles White of Chico, and a number of nieces and nephews. The decease was patriotic in the extreme, notwithstanding her nearly four score of years, worked in the fruit last year, declaring she could not do much, but whatever it was, it would help the cause of democracy. Sullivan Brothers are in charge of the funeral arrangements, details of which are pending, awaiting word from scattered relatives. ******************* The above information was obtained and provided to me by John Morton, Colusa Co., California Historical Researcher
