Read More	Married Feb 28, 1880 The Edgar Sun (Edgar, NE) Fri, Feb 10, 1933 - Pg 3 Mrs Patrick Lane Ida May Pittam was born in Jo Davis county (sic), Ill., on May 13, 1861 and departed this life near Lynden, Wash., on Jan 31, 1933 at the age of 71 years. 8 months and 18 days. She was the second child of Hiram Hurst and Julia Ann Pittam. At the age of four years she came with her parents and two children to the territory of Nebraska where her parents homesteaded in what was later designated as Johnson county (sic). She attended the local schools and at the age of 17 years she began teaching in the country schools of the state. On Februray (sic) 28, 1880, she became the bride of Patrick Lane. To this union were born three children, Mrs Chas. V. Johnson of Lynden, Wash., and two sons, William Lane of Fremont, Nebr., and Richard P. Lane of Terry, Mont. These survive, the father having preceded the mother in death by several years. Two brothers, William and Charles Pittam and a sister, Mrs Edna Undewood, also preceded Mrs Lane in death. Two sisters, Mrs C. W. Roup of Alliance, Nebr., and Ms. S. C. Roberts of Pullman, Wash, and three brothers, H. C. Pittam of Adams, Nebr.; T. C. Pittman of Adams, Nebr., and H. R. Pittam of Bushnell Nebr., also survive her. She also leave to mourn her departure 8 grandchildren, 4 sons and a daughter of Mr and Mrs C. V. Johnson and 3 daughters of Mr and Mrs Richard P. Lane, as well as numerous other relatives and friends. After living in Johnson county (sic) then at Adams, Nebr. she later lived on a farm in Nuckolls county (sic). In each of these communities she took part in the community affairs. On Oct 2, 1920, Patrick Lane, her husband, passed away and was laid to rest in the Fairfield cemetery. Mrs Lane then retired and since has made her home with her son Richard, of Terry, Mont., or with her daughter Mrs C. V. Johnson of Lynden, Wash. Mrs Lane was a member of the Christian church (sic) at Fairfield, Nebr., withdrawing her membership there to place it with the Christian church (sic) at Bellingham, Wash. With her at the end were the family of Mr and Mrs Chas. V. Johnson and her sister Ms S. C. Roberts. Simple yet beautiful services were held in the little chapel on the corner of the farm where she had spent the last days of her life. She was brought back home to be laid to rest in Fairfield cemetery beside her husband, he oldest grandchild, Duane Alton Lane and baby LaVerne Johnson. Funeral services were in charge of Rev B. H. Schrader, pastor of the Christian church (sic) of Edgar, Nebr., and were conducted Monday afternoon February 5, first in the old home southwest of Edgar and then at 2:30 p.m. at the Deweese Christian church (sic)
