Read More	Wenatchee World - Wednesday, July 13, 2011 Ida May (Rinke) Allen Wenatchee, WA Ida May (Rinke) Allen, age 82, of Wenatchee, WA, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 10, 2011. She was surrounded by her husband, Harold, and her family. Born in Withrow, WA on November 26, 1928, to German Immigrants, Carl and Ida Rinke, Ida lived on a wheat ranch and attended her early school years there. Ida, her parents, two older brothers and three older sisters moved to Leavenworth, WA around 1942. She met her husband to be, Harold Allen, at Leavenworth High School. Harold was a Senior Class President and Ida was Vice President. Ida married her high school sweetheart June 9, 1948. Together, they raised three boys and two girls. Both Ida and Harold were very involved in the St. Joseph Catholic Church and school. Not only was Ida a wonderful homemaker, she also enjoyed working part time for Dr. Boniface and later, for two eye clinics. She enjoyed collecting Hummel figurines because she was so proud of her German heritage. At the Thanksgiving table every year, she proudly served sauerkraut, along with the turkey. Ida worked very hard throughout her life. She and Harold together ran and operated 40-plus apartments, until they were not physically able. She really enjoyed her friends and loved playing bridge and having lunches together to celebrate birthdays. Ida's family meant the world to her. She was always planning get-togethers to make sure we all stayed in touch. Ida is survived by one sister, Hilda of Moses Lake; her husband, Harold of Wenatchee; sons, Wayne Allen (Susan) of Shelton, Greg Allen (Leslie) of Redmond and Scott Allen (Wendy) of Auburn; daughters, Marcia Lambson (Dick) of East Wenatchee and Cindy Huffer (Mike) of Wenatchee; grandchildren, Dean Lambson, Ryan (Ashley) Dowell, Bethany, Averey, James and Kimber Allen, Geoff (Nina) Huffer and Maggie Huffer; and great-grandchildren, William and Ethan Lambson and Charli Huffer. Ida's family would like to give special thanks to her wonderful friends and caregivers at Highgate Senior Living in Wenatchee. Ida will be dearly missed, but never forgotten. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Wenatchee, WA beginning at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 14, 2011. Visitation will be held at Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee, WA from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2011, with a Recitation of the Rosary and Visual Service beginning at 6:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee, WA.
