Gray, and a member of one of Lima's pioneer families, died at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Alan D. Knisely, 339 S. Cole-st. Altho death came after several hours illness, Mrs. Gray had been in poor health for several years. She succumbed after an asthmatic attack. Gray Dies In Home Of Daughter Mrs. Ida N. Gray, 85, widow of Walter E. Gray, and a member of one of Lima's pioneer families, died at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Alan D. Knisely, 339 S. Cole-st. Altho death came after several hours illness, Mrs. Gray had been in poor health for several years. She succumbed after an asthmatic attack. Mrs. Gray was born in 1856 in the Isaac Dalzell home at the corner of Central-av and Market-st. She had resided in Lima all of her life. Her husband died in 1932. She was a lifelong member of Christ Episcopal church. Surviving, besides her daughter, are two grandchildren, Mrs. J. R. Dreffer, Jr., and Gray Knisely, and two great-grandchildren, Judith Mary and Alan Michael Knisely, all of Lima. Last rites will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the S. Cole-st home. The Rev. Richard O. Petersen, rector of Christ Episcopal church, will be in charge. Burial will be in the family lot in Woodlawn cemetery. The body was to be taken from the Davis, Miller and Son mortuary to the residence Wednesday afternoon. (published in The Lima News, Wednesday, March 26, 1941)
