The deceased was born in Ohio December 5, 1845 and had been a resident of this place about twenty years. Read More	From a 1900 Nance County, Nebraska, newspaper clipping file, publication date unknown, transcribed by Linda Berney: Mrs. Ida Gress, wife of Michael Gress, died at her home in this city Thursday evening, December 13, 1900 of diabetes. The deceased was born in Ohio December 5, 1845 and had been a resident of this place about twenty years. Her death was a sore bereavement to her husband, three sons and two daughters who still survive her. She had been a great sufferer at times for several years before her death, but her condition was not considered alarming until shortly before the end. Mrs. Gress was a member of the Presbyterian church and of the W.R.C. of this place. She was a kind Christian woman and was held in the highest esteem by all her acquaintances. She was honest and sincere and her life was of exemplary correctness. The funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from the family residence and were conducted by Rev. Dr. Ray, her pastor, and were largely attended.
