Description	:	Ila Oltmanns died unexpectedly on Sunday afternoon, Apr. 13, at Sioux Valley Hospital, due to complications following surgery. Ila Fern (Sinning) Oltmanns was born on a farm three and one-half miles south of Lennox, the daughter of Henry A. and Swanette (Lubbers) Sinning. She attended Bennett Rural School District #89 and grew up there. On Jan. 29, 1941 she was united in marriage to Harm B. Oltmanns at her parental home south of Lennox. Ila Fern (Sinning) Oltmanns was born on a farm three and one-half miles south of Lennox, the daughter of Henry A. and Swanette (Lubbers) Sinning. Mrs. Oltmanns had been a member of LaValley Presbyterian Church, where she was the first woman to serve as an Elder. She later became a member of Faith Presbyterian Church, where she also served as an Elder. Besides her husband, Harm, she was preceded in death by her father on Jan. 5, 1972; her mother on Feb. 19, 1977, and a brother, Alvin Sinning on Aug. 14, 1996. Survivors include her son, Harley Oltmanns, rural Lennox; two daughters and their husbands; Lois and Dean Greer of Bella Vista, Arkansas, and Ileen and Gary Tice of Springfield, MO; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Wilmer Sinning and his wife, Rena, of Lennox; a sister-in-law, Hilda Sinning of Lennox.
