Description	:	A lifelong resident of this community, Harm Bernard Oltmanns passed away in Sioux Valley hospital Thursday night, August 13, following a short illness. He underwent surgery four months ago and his condition continued to worsen. He attained the age of 71 years and four months. Harm Bernard Oltmanns was born on a farm one mile north and three miles east of Lennox on Apr. 13, 1916, the son of Lubberto and Bertha (Buus) Oltmanns. Read More	A lifelong resident of this community, Harm Bernard Oltmanns passed away in Sioux Valley hospital Thursday night, August 13, following a short illness. He underwent surgery four months ago and his condition continued to worsen. He attained the age of 71 years and four months. Harm Bernard Oltmanns was born on a farm one mile north and three miles east of Lennox on Apr. 13, 1916, the son of Lubberto and Bertha (Buus) Oltmanns. He attended Crowley School two miles east of town and grew to manhood on the farm. On Jan. 29, 1941 he was united in marriage to Ila Sinning at her parental home south of Lennox. The couple continued farming operations on the home farm northeast of Lennox their entire married life. With his passing, a marriage partnership of over 46 years come to an end. Mr. Oltmanns had been a member of LaValley Presbyterian Church, where he served as elder, deacon, and was Sunday School superintendent for several years. He later became a member of Faith Presbyterian Church of Lennox. He enjoyed traveling, hunting and fishing, and his hobby of woodworking. Preceding him in death was his father on Nov. 30, 1939, and his mother on Oct. 16, 1975, and a sister, Mrs. Louise Day in 1982. Deceased is survived by his widow; one son, Harley and his wife, Vonda, of Lennox; two daughters, Lois Greer and her husband, Dean, of Brandon, and Ileen Tice and her husband, Gary, of Springfield, MO.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Fred G. (Grace) Kock of Lennox.
