She graduated from Paton High School in the class of 1939. ~ Ila Maxine Clark, 81, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2003 at Guthrie County Hospital in Guthrie Center. "Maxine", daughter of Harm and Emma (Jenkins) Hansen, was born December 16, 1921 on the farm east of Paton. She graduated from Paton High School in 1939 and attended beauty school, working as a hairdresser for twenty years. She was operating her own beauty shop in Boone when she met Wayne Clark. They were married June 5, 1956. In 1959 she closed her shop and became a homemaker. In 1966 they moved to Guthrie Center where Wayne worked at Iowa Electric Light and Power. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and women's group, Birthday Club, Woman's Club and Guthrie County Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading biographies and autobiographies, and was a faithful TV follower of Iowa Hawkeye and Iowa State Cyclone basketball. She is survived by Alice, her sister-in-law; nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters and two brothers. Beidelman-Twigg Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for her service 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 7 at First Presbyterian Church. Burial of cremains at Union Cemetery.
