Parker Frye, was born on October 19, 1898, in Thayer County, Nebr., and passed away on June 6, 1975, after an extended illness, at Goleta, Calif., at the age of 76 years, 7 months and 17 days. Ilo attended the public schools of Chester, Nebr., graduating from high school in 1917. She obtained a teacher's credential, as an honor student in 1926, from Nebraska (Peru) State Teachers College, and taught for a number of years in Thayer County. She was united in marriage to Carl L. Ball in 1918 and to this union three children were born, Keith, Bernard and Ruth. They were engaged in farming in the Chester community and later moved to Chicago, Ill., where Mr. Ball was employed by the Western Electric Company. In 1931 the family moved to Belleville, Ks., and eventually started the Ball Hatchery, which they operated for many years. She was active in church and missionary activities. Her family will miss her very much, but take comfort in the promise of "God's Word". "Absent from the body-present with the Lord." She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl; two brothers and one sister. She is survived by two sons, Keith Ball and his wife, Betty of Santa Barbara, Calif., Bernard Ball and his wife, Ila Jean of Edwardsville, Ill.; one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Baxa and her husband, Wesley of Columbus, Nebr.; one brother, Merton Frye of Norwalk, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Harold (Beryl) Brown of Lynwood, Calif.; her step-father, L.L. Simpson of Hebron, Nebr.; fifteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 10, 1975, at 2:00 p.m. at the Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart Memorial Chapel of Belleville, Ks., conducted by Keith Ball. Interment was made in Chester Cemetery, Chester, Nebr.
