Description	:	Imogene "Jean" Cottman, 80, of Stanwood and a long time resident of Leavenworth, died Saturday evening, May 29, 2004 in Marysville. She was born Imogene Douglas on February 28, 1924 at Habersham, Tennessee and in 1925, the family moved to Leavenworth, where she grew up and received her education. In July of 1942, she married Phillip G. Franklin at Leavenworth, where they made their home. Phil died in 1954. On December 13, 1957, she married Ben Cottman at Cashmere. Read More	Imogene "Jean" Cottman, 80, of Stanwood and a long time resident of Leavenworth, died Saturday evening, May 29, 2004 in Marysville. She was born Imogene Douglas on February 28, 1924 at Habersham, Tennessee and in 1925, the family moved to Leavenworth, where she grew up and received her education. In July of 1942, she married Phillip G. Franklin at Leavenworth, where they made their home. Phil died in 1954. On December 13, 1957, she married Ben Cottman at Cashmere. Ben served as a District Ranger for the U.S. Forest Service, so they lived in various locations in Washington and Oregon, where they made many friends. Following his retirement in 1986, they returned to Leavenworth to make their home. Jean had a passion for skiing and shared her talents as a ski instructor for many years. She loved horse back riding, camping in the high country, boating, fishing, snowmobiling, crafts, gardening, cooking, sewing, Bible study, and served as a volunteer for the U.S. Forest Service. She deeply loved her sons, daughters-in-law and her grandchildren as well as her extended family and close friends. She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Phillip "Buzz" Franklin and Feta Franklin of Buckley, John Franklin and Camille Stemm of Leavenworth, Steve Franklin and Brenda Franklin of Cashmere and Dennis Franklin and Peggy Franklin of Stanwood; 8 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Phil Franklin in 1954, husband, Ben Cottman in 1992, three sisters and one brother. A Memorial Service of Commemoration to Celebrate the Life of Jean Cottman, will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday morning, June 5, 2004 in the Ward's Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Bob Jackson, officiating. The service will conclude in the chapel with private inurnment in the Mt. View Cemetery. Friends are invited to join with the family following the service at the home of John and Camille in Leavenworth. Ward's Funeral Chapel, Leavenworth, is in charge of the arrangements.
