Mrs. Meyer, the former Ina Mae Lockie, was born March 1, 1914 in Winona, Minnesota, the daughter of Robert Arthur and Lura Grace (Munson) Lockie. She was raised in McIntire, Iowa, and graduated from Charles City Community High School in 1931. In 1933, she was united in marriage to Emil Edward Meyer. The couple made their home on farms in the Charles City, Bassett and Chickasaw areas, where Mrs. Meyer assisted her husband in farming operations. Mr. Meyer died in 1956. Mrs. Meyer moved with her son to Charles City. In 1961, they made their home in Mason City. While in Mason City, Mrs. Meyer was a cook at the former Mercy Hospital for two years and for 11 years at the former Americana Care Center. On the farm and as a cook, Mrs. Meyer was noted as a very diligent and conscientious worker. Her work ethnic carried over to the time she loved to spend in her vegetable garden and her knitting and crocheting handiwork. Living family members include her son, Karl, of Mason City; a stepsister, Gweneth Ogilvie, of Florida; and a half sister, Donna Nelson, of Washington. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a son, Darrell Lee Meyer, who died at the age of 4 months.
