Funeral services will be Saturday, March 08, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. from Zion Lutheran Church, Elgin. Reverends Bob Edwards and John Amundson will officiate with burial in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Elgin. Inez Catherina Beck was born in Elgin on August 11, 1913, to William and Lydia (Enzminger) Beck. She attended rural schools, school in New Leipzig and graduated from Elgin High School in 1931. Inez was a key player on the areas first girl's basketball teams, a game which she dearly loved, and followed her children's and grandchildren's games faithfully. Inez was united in marriage to Walter Roland Roth at Zion Lutheran parsonage in Elgin on October 22, 1936, and they began their married life in Odessa, North Dakota, establishing a dairy farm. The happy couple was blessed with ten children who were always comfortable with bringing their friends home. There was always room at Inez's table, no one ever went home hungry. She loved to garden and her green thumb produced many wonderful vegetables and beautiful flowers. Ine loved gifting her children and grandchildren with wonderful homemade chokecherry jelly, pickles, and beautiful handcrafted items. Inez impacted the lives of many as a Sunday School teacher at Zion Lutheran Church in Elgin where she was a life long member. Inez is survived by her chldren, JoAnn (Thomas) Jacobsen, Hettinger; James (Rachelle) Roth, Redmond, Oregon; Arlen (Carrie) Roth, New Leipzig; Karen (Duane) Pierce, Scranton; Brian (Gloria) Roth, New Leipzig; Dennise (Larry) Rivinius, Rapid City, South Dakota; and Marcy (Morris) Haase, New Leipzig; 33 grandchildren; 77 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; daughters, Arliss Roth and Darlene Bader; son Joel; son-in-law, Ray Bader; daughter-in-law, Joleen Roth; grandson Michael Jacobsen; her parrents; sisters, Anna Zimmerle and Vera Hodell; brothers Victor and karl Beck. Inez's table is full and her garden now lush and beautiful. Praise be to God!
