In 1860 they were living in Shelby Co., Ohio. They had a son, William Orville Babcock who was born in 1861. Uri's family was on the move west to Nebraska, and it can be assumed that Uri and Rebecca were not too far behind. Uri Martin [Morton] Babcock and Rebecca Lucinda Davis Babcock were married on October 5, 1859, and very likely were the parents of this infant. In 1860 they were living in Shelby Co., Ohio. They had a son, William Orville Babcock who was born in 1861. Uri's family was on the move west to Nebraska, and it can be assumed that Uri and Rebecca were not too far behind. They were members of the Seventh Day Baptist denomination, so would have logically stopped by the Welton, IA SDB Church for a few years; as did their parents before them. In 1867, Uri accepted a teaching position in a new school and new settlement in Richardson County, Nebraska. Uri's older brothers and parents were living there. Rebecca's parents also migrated to Richardson County, Nebr. Church records from the Seventh Day Baptist Church of Welton, Iowa, could possibly verify this child's birth and parentage. Those records are at the Seventh Day Baptist Center, PO Box 1678, Janesville, Wisconsin 53547.
