Description	:	Ira Brush who passed away at his home in Grand Junction last Friday, was the son of Miles and Elizabeth Brush and was born at Middlebury, Clay County, Indiana on October 13th, 1851. His age at death being 62 years, 3 months and 30 days. His father moved to Marshall County, Iowa when Ira was 8 years old. Read More	Ira Brush who passed away at his home in Grand Junction last Friday, was the son of Miles and Elizabeth Brush and was born at Middlebury, Clay County, Indiana on October 13th, 1851. His age at death being 62 years, 3 months and 30 days. His father moved to Marshall County, Iowa when Ira was 8 years old. At an early age he was converted in the Church of Christ and remained faithful through his life. He was united in marriage to Emma C. Frabel at Marshalltown on December 28th, 1878. To this union, four children were born, Walter dying in infancy. The family moved to Rippey, Iowa in 1888 and lived there until eleven years ago when they moved to Grand Junction where he engaged in the butcher business for some time. He has been a sufferer with heart trouble and asthma for a year and a half, but for the last two weeks seemed better than he had been for more than a year, having been in town on the day of his death. He was a member of the M.W.A. and the K.P. Lodges and the Fraternal Bankers Reserve of Cedar Rapids. He leaves to mourn his departure, his broken hearted wife, three children: Mrs. Grace A. Grow of Rippey, Mrs. Myrtle B. Rhoades of Delta and Harold M. who is still at home, eight grandchildren, three brothers: William R. of Liscomb, Datus E. of Lynnville, Solomon L. of Worthington, MN and a sister Mrs. Eva Squires of Sioux City, besides a host of sorrowing friends. He was a kind and loving husband and father and his happiest moments were when he could gather his children all at home and enjoy them and their children. His untimely passing brings sorrow untold in the family circle particularly the good wife who is thus bereft of her life companion. Mr. Brush was quite prominently known over the county by reasons of his interest in the political affairs, having a number of times been a representative of his party in county conventions and a candidate for Sherriff at one time. - Jefferson Bee, February 18, 1914
