Description	:	Ira Leon McGill was the son of Walter Raleigh McGill and Ottilla Thaggard. He served as a postal clerk in Lumberton, NC, and later in Laurinburg, NC. He also served as the Scotland County Veterans Service Officer. He was a former member of the Board of Deacons of the First Baptist Church. He was married to Aileen Gramling November 1, 1924, in Spartanburg, SC. He and Aileen had two sons Dr. I. L. McGill and A. G. McGill. Aileen died on August 22, 2000, at the age of 101.
