Description	:	Beloit Call 20 Mar 1917 - After an illness of several weeks, the last days of which were severe, Ira Simpson died at his home on South Hershey Avenue yesterday morning. Ira Simpson was born in Wabash County, Indiana, on May 10, 1854. He was married in 1875 to Miss Mary Miller. Mr. and Mrs. Simpson became parents to seven children of whom there along with their mother survive. The children are: Mrs. Frank Zurmley of Wakefield, Kansas; Jesse Simpson of Beloit, Kansas; and Roy Simpson of Concordia. There is also left to mourn his death... Ira Simpson was born in Wabash County, Indiana, on May 10, 1854. He was married in 1875 to Miss Mary Miller. Mr. and Mrs. Simpson became parents to seven children of whom there along with their mother survive. The children are: Mrs. Frank Zurmley of Wakefield, Kansas; Jesse Simpson of Beloit, Kansas; and Roy Simpson of Concordia. There is also left to mourn his death one brother and five sisters. The sisters are Mrs. J.P. Rickard and Mrs. Fred Cary of Beloit, Miss Alice Simpson of Cawker City, Mrs. Flansburg and Miss Helen Simpson of Bridgeport, Conn. The brother is Arthur Simpson of Beloit. Mr. Simpson was a son of Andrew Simpson, one of the earliest settlers in Mitchell County. He grew to manhood with his parents here but later moved away. For a time he lived in Concordia. A few months ago he and his family returned to Beloit where he spent his last days. The funeral will be held at the Baptist Church this morning at 10:30 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. L.B. Parker, and interment was made at the cemetery in Concordia.
