Born on February 16, 1919, Ira was the son of the late Wallace and Inez (Roank) Green. He was a 1939 graduate of Hicksville High School. Born on February 16, 1919, Ira was the son of the late Wallace and Inez (Roank) Green. He was a 1939 graduate of Hicksville High School. He then served his country in the United States Army during WWII. Ira was united in marriage to Opal Beerbower on April 6, 1947. She preceded him in death in 2010. Ira is survived by his family Gary (Joy) of Edgerton, OH, Garland (David) Lunguist of Minnesota, Lana (Kenneth) Wilson of Indiana, Carla (Ken) Weaver of Colorado, six grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Two brothers and two sisters have preceded him in death. Ira was retired as a butcher from the A&P Grocery stores. He loved using his hands as he crafted things from wood and worked on cars. He was very involved in his children’s extra curricular activities. He became a member of the American Legion and the VFW, participating in many graveside military honors. Visitation for Ira will be at Smith & Brown Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4:00-7:00. The funeral will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:00 with an hour of visitation prior. Burial will be at Forest Home Cemetery.
