Description	:	FULTON, Ill. - Irene B. Hoeksema, 91, of Harbor Crest Nursing Home in Fulton, died Monday at the nursing home. Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home in Fulton with the Rev. Philip Rauwerdink, interim pastor with Second Reformed Church in Fulton, officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery in Clinton. She was born Dec. 9, 1912, in Cherokee to John Jay and Cora Ellen Crippen Coates. She married Chester A. "Chet" Hoeksema on June 8, 1947, in Dixon, Ill. He died in 1999. She was educated in South Dakota grade schools. She resided for many years in South Dakota. She moved to Clinton and later to Fulton in 1961. She was employed as a waitress during her earlier years. She also was employed with the former Iowa State Bank in Clinton. She later transferred to the former Fulton State Bank in Fulton where she worked for 25 years before retiring in January 1989. She was a member of the Fulton American Legion Auxiliary, the Wa-tan-ye Club of Fulton and the Second Reformed Church in Fulton. Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Pauline Olson of Sioux Falls, S.D.; two brothers, Vincon R. "Vince" Coates of Rapid City, S.D., Dale R. (Nathy) Coates of Madison, S.D.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a stepson, three sisters and four brothers. Memorials may be made to the Fulton American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
