Irene Cora Marie Porter was born April 4, 1904 in West Point, NE the daughter of Matthew and Hannah Rose Matson. As a young girl she moved with her family to Hand County in 1901. She attended school in Greenleaf Township and Aberdeen Teachers College. She married Raymond E. Read More	Irene Porter Rites Held November 30 Mrs. Irene Porter, 75, died Tuesday, Nov. 27 at the Hand County Memorial Hospital. Irene Cora Marie Porter was born April 4, 1904 in West Point, NE the daughter of Matthew and Hannah Rose Matson. As a young girl she moved with her family to Hand County in 1901. She attended school in Greenleaf Township and Aberdeen Teachers College. She married Raymond E. Porter on April 20, 1926 and they farmed east of St. Lawrence for one year and then moved to a farm in Greenleaf Township. In 1963 she moved to Miller. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. She is survived by her son, Eugene, St. Lawrence, three grandsons and two granddaughters; two brothers, Gilbert Matson, Miller and Royal (Doc) Matson, Casper, WY. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband who died in 1960. Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 30 at the Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Fred M. Rosin, Jr. officiating. Burial was in the GAR Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Al Porter, Melvin Reinhardt, Ottis Jacobs, William Schwartz, Allen Jacobs and Gene Smith.
