Description	:	Irene Dorothy Warren, 85, of Aurora, died Monday, Aug. 2, 2010, at the Hamilton Manor. Irene was born Oct. 8, 1924, at Marquette to Henning Otto and Lizzie Christine (Wisby) Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Richard Warren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Richard Warren. Survivors are: son, Loren Warren of Lincoln; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen Warren of Madison, Wis., Lynnette Schultz of Lincoln, Verda and Rendy Friesen of Aurora and Mary and John Weinrich of Grand Island; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Johnson of Atwood, Kan., Nellie Olson of Hastings, Marj Snodgrass of Lincoln, Janice Warren and Rose Marie Warren, both of Aurora and many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. She grew up in Marquette, where she attended school and graduated from Marquette High School in 1943. Irene lived in Chicago for three months and then returned to Marquette to work at the Marquette Telephone Company and then the Aurora Telephone Co. She lived at the Hamilton County Court House and worked at the Clerk's Office until her marriage. Irene was married to Ed Richard Warren on Sept. 19, 1948, at Aurora. They lived south of Aurora. Ed passed away on March 24, 1986. Irene was a former member of the Christian Church, Prairie Gem and the Marquette and Aurora EUB Churches. She was currently a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Dorcas Club and ran the funnel cake booth at the fair. Irene was a member of the KND Extension Club, active with her husband on the Farm Bureau Board, a 4-H Leader and Girl Scout Leader and helped for many years with the Hamilton County Elections. She was a member of the Nimble Thimble Quilt Guild. Irene hosted many exchange students. Irene enjoyed sewing, making rugs, quilting and many other crafts. She enjoyed following her children and grandchildren to their sporting events and other activities. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Harry Johnson.
