Description	:	GREELEY — Irene Racicky, 89, of Greeley passed away Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016, at Tiffany Square Care Center in Grand Island. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Greeley. The Revs. Antony Thekkekara and Tom Ryan will officiate. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery at Greeley. T.J. Finn and Sons Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Irene was born Nov. 27, 1926, at Greeley to James and Catherine (Mulcahy) Gray. She grew up in Greeley and graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1944. Irene taught school in country schools and in O’Connor; she also worked at the assessor’s office at the Greeley County Court House. In 1972, Irene went back to teaching and taught at the Sacred Heart School until she retired in 1992. Following retirement, she continued to make her home in Greeley. Irene was married to Donald Racicky on Aug. 27, 1949, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Greeley. Irene enjoyed embroidery work and knitting. Survivors include a son, Dennis Racicky of Greeley; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Bob Zahm of Grand Island; three grandsons, Cole and Trey Zahm and Riley Racicky; and a sister, Catherine Dugan of St. Edward. Irene was preceded in death by her husband; four brothers, Edward, James, William and Walter; and five sisters, Julia Withauer, Florence Gray, Mildred Thompson, Mary Neary, and Rose Mary Thompson.
