LUND -------------------- Hundreds of friends gathered at the Christian church Saturday afternoon for the funeral of Mrs. Lyman B. Lund. A short service was first conducted at the McKee Funeral Home. Every available seat at the church was filled while many stood in the vesitbule and outside the door. Rev. Wm. H. Knotts, pastor of the church conducted the services and spoke words of comfort to the bereaved. Pallbearers were six young men of the community: Glen Kees John Allen, Lawrence Hanisch, Myron and Dwight Olsen and John Cowan. The floral tributes, which completely filled three cars, were in charge of Mrs. earl Martin, Mrs. Vern S. Coon and Dorothy Moor. The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. M. B. Pringle of Council Bluffs, an old friend of the family. Rev. Pringle is pastor of the Christian Church at Council Bluffs. There was more than a score of cars in the funeral procession each marked with a blue and white flag fastened to the bumper. Interment was in the Laurens cemetery. Among those attending the funeral from out of town were the following: ... Born in 1898 Iris Hazel Siddall, daughter of Ira H. and Rebecca A. Siddall, was born near Laurens, December 16, 1898 and died July 22 1937, aged 38 years, 7 months and 5 days. She graduated from the Laurens High School in 1916. She attended Iowa State Teachers' College and then taught in the schools of this vicinity for several years. She was married to Lyman B. Lund at the home of her parents, September 2, 1918, Rev. W. H. Lease, officiating. Early in life she united with the Methodist church in Laurens. In 1921 they moved to Lamberton, Minn. There they united with the Christian church. They returned to a farm near Laurens in Laurens in 1929 and entered into the work and fellowship of the Christian church in Laurens. ... Most of all, she will be missed in the home. For her home had first place in her affections. ... (continued on page 4) Page 4: (continued from page one) ... She has left beside her husband, three children: Leota, Lloyd and Lucile. Her father, Ira Siddall, two sisters and one brother. There were many other relatives and friends who rejoice in having known her, and who falter at the word, farewell. ------------- CARD OF THANKS We wish to thank the many friends and neighbors for flowers and the many acts of kindness and shocking of oats during the illness and death of our wife and mother.
