She was born in Arma, Kansas on July 24, 1932 to Desire, Sr. and Zoe Violet Dehon. She was raised in Arma and graduated from Crawford County Community High School in 1950. May she rest in peace. She was born in Arma, Kansas on July 24, 1932 to Desire, Sr. and Zoe Violet Dehon. She was raised in Arma and graduated from Crawford County Community High School in 1950. She was united in marriage to Carrol Victor Fleury on May 20, 1950 in Liberal, Missouri. They were married 68 years, and were childhood sweethearts. They lived in Texas, and Georgia while Carrol was in the Army and then returned to Arma. They had four children who she loved very much every day of her life. She loved people, flowers, and her pets. Especially her Calico cat Beatsy who slept by her side every day, and Sammy her dachshund. She also took care of the cows, sometimes raising them on a bottle and naming them. Terry took care of them when Irma wasn't able. She also helped Dad with farming, feeding, and watering the pigs. She was an animal lover and hard worker at home. She also worked at the Census Bureau, the Kansas Ammunition Plant, and retired from the Crawford County Courthouse after 30 years when she was 73. Irma is survived by her husband Carrol, and her children, Jeanette (Tony) Simon, Terry (Donna) Fleury, Duane (Bobbi) Fleury all of Arma, and Luana (Dale) Birt of Wentzville, Missouri, six grandchildren, Mindy (Nate) Stahl, Chris (Paula) Fleury, Steven (Krissy) Simon, Suzanne (Cameron) Collins, Delaney Birt and Logan Birt, seven great grandchildren, Sicily and Saia Stahl, Andre Fleury, Brenden and Colten Collins, and Jordan and Gino Simon. Additional survivors include sister-in-law, Betty Dehon, brother-in-law, Don Fleury, and several nieces, nephews, and friends. Irma was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Augusta Peternell and Alberta Tersina, one brother, Des Dehon Jr. and brother-in-law, Bob Fleury. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at the Bedene Funeral Home at Arma, Kansas with the Rev. Steve Cole officiating. Burial will be at the Pittsburg Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice. Donations may be sent to or left at the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 E. Washington, Box 621, Arma, Kansas 66712.
