Read More	POOL, IRMA MILDRED LOUISA—Irma Mildred Louisa Vollman Pool was born to William Robert Vollman and Emma Harder Vollman on April 21, 1908, near Holdrege, and passed away Oct. 12, 2000, at the Fairview Manor in Fairmont, at the age of 92 years. She was the second of four children in the family. Irma attended grade school and two years of high school. In 1972, at the age of 62 she finished her high school education and received her GED Certificate. Irma was married to Leslie F. Pool of Seward in May of 1926, and to them two children, Keith and Mary Anne, were born. Irma worked for Mrs. Bobbitt at the Roselawn Nursing home for 10 years. She later helped her husband, Leslie at the Geneva Hotel. After the death of her husband, she and her son Keith ran the hotel until March of 1979, when she retired. She was always willing to give a helping hand to anyone that might need it. She also helped her son Keith when he was working for R.E.A. Irma was a very devoted mother and enjoyed spending time with her family. Irma was in Long Term Care for a short time. In 1999, she and Keith moved to Fairview Manor. Irma was a member of the Geneva Assembly of God Church in Geneva. She loved to read books of all kinds, until her eyesight got to where she was unable to do so. She also enjoyed working in her garden when she was younger. Irma enjoyed writing poetry and had her son Keith type them for her. She later learned to type her own poems. Irma had two of her poems published in a book by a company in California. Irma was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie; daughter, Mary Anne; parents, William and Emma Vollman; sisters, Bertha and Ruth and brother, Claude. She is survived by her son, Keith; nephews, Bill Brooks and wife, Wanda, Bob Brooks and wife, Mary Ellen, Don and wife, Sandy Reine; niece, Roberta and husband, Ken Wise; and a cousin, Charles Harder. Funeral services were conducted from the Geneva Assembly of god Church in Geneva, on Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2000, with Pastor Woodrow Weidner officiating. Carol Frey accompanied Chet Frey and herself and sang “The Old Rugged Cross” and “In the Garden.” Casket bearers were Chet Frey, Gerald Oswald, Joe Schelkopf, Robert L. Nunns, Homer Brauning and Mahlon Kennel. Interment was in the Geneva Public Cemetery. The Nebraska Signal October 25th, 2000 page 15.
