Description	:	MRS. NORA LAWSON PASSED AWAY Mrs. Nora Irma Lawson, one of the community's highly respected matrons, died at her home in the Calvary section Tuesday afternoon. She had been in declining health for about six months. She was 66 years of age. Mrs. Lawson was born here, the daughter of Mrs. Cornelia Sterling and the late Isaac Sterling. She was the widow of the late Ira Benson Lawson. NORA LAWSON PASSED AWAY Mrs. Nora Irma Lawson, one of the community's highly respected matrons, died at her home in the Calvary section Tuesday afternoon. She had been in declining health for about six months. She was 66 years of age. Mrs. Lawson was born here, the daughter of Mrs. Cornelia Sterling and the late Isaac Sterling. She was the widow of the late Ira Benson Lawson. Mrs. Lawson was a sweet, kindly women, devoted to her family, helpful to her friends, a fine neighbor, and was held in great regard and esteem by all who knew her. She had been a member of Asbury Methodist Church for years and for a long time had been a member of the Senior Choir there. She also had been interested in church and community activities, and had given much time to these affairs. She left a large circle of relatives and friends to sorrow at her passing. Funeral services will be held today, Friday, at 2:00 p.m. in Asbury Methodist Church, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Walter Beckwith. Burial will be in the Asbury Cemetery. Surviving her are one son, Benson Lawson, of Crisfield; one daughter, Mrs. Grover Lescallette of Vienna, Md.; her mother, Mrs. Cornelia Sterling; three brothers, Jackson Sterling of Crisfield, Preston Sterling of Baltimore, and Clifton Sterling of Chester, Pa.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
