Reverend Peter Friberg officiated the 10:30 a.m. service with interment in Greenwood Cemetery in Creighton. ****** Irma Rose Gabler Neumann Irma Rose Neumann, daughter of Rudolph and Rose (Burkhardt) Gabler, was born November 21, 1923 on a farm west of Verdigre, Nebraska. She graduated from Creighton High School in 1940. She moved with her parents to Winner, South Dakota during the depression and then back to a farm west of Winnetoon. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Senior Citizens Club, Eastern Star and Western Swinger Square Dance Club. She was involved in church activities and enjoyed gardening, embroidery and crocheting. **** Jewell LaVerne Neumann Jewell Laverne Neumann, son of Floyd and Bessie (Jewell) Neumann, was born October 23, 1918 at Winnetoon. He graduated from Winnetoon High School in 1934. He was married to Irma Rose Gabler on May 18, 1964 at Zion Lutheran Church. Three children were born to them, Ila, Kevin and Kent. They farmed west of Creighton. He attended refrigeration school in Kansas City and worked in Omaha during the winter. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Senior Citizens Club and Western Swingers Square Dance Club. He was involved in farming, gardening, ham radio and was a former president of the Senior Citizens Club. ****** Jewel and Irma passed away April 5, 2001 as a result of an automobile accident. Jewell was 82 years old and Irma was 77 years old. Survivors include their children, daughter, Ila Preister and husband, Ritch, of Columbus; sons, Kevin, and wife, Susie, of San Antonia, TX; Kent and wife, Mary, of Bancroft; seven grandchildren; sisters, Bernice Ehrenberg, Creighton, Carol Schmidt and husband, Arnold, Royal, brother, Dale and wife, Joann, Pleasant Valley, AZ and aunt, Louise Shane of Bloomfield. They were preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Bessie (Jewell) Neumann and her parents, Rudolph and Rose (Burkhardt) Gabler and brother, Forest Gabler.
