Eugene Beye officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Everett Gardner, Don Werkmeister, Arnold Schmidt, Roscoe Groeling, L.L. West and Fritz Haskin. Honorary pallbearers were Carl Falter, Clayton Diez, Lloyd Hamilton, Harold Werkmeister, Laurence Jewell and Arthur Rohwer. He graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1913 and attended the University of Nebraska one year. He was united in marriage to Rose Burkhardt Feb. 11, 1918 at Creighton. two children were born to them. Following their marriage they farmed west of Verdigre. In 1926 the family moved to a farm on the Rosebud Indian Reservation near Clearfield, S.D. After eight years there, they returned to Nebraska and farmed west of Creighton until 1969, when they retired and moved into Creighton. Mr. Gabler was a member of the United Church of Christ. Surviving are his widow; son, Forrest R. Gabler of Baltimore, Md.; daughter, Mrs. Jewell Neumann of Creighton; five grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Louise Shane and Mrs. C.A.
