Funeral services for Mrs. Irona Grimsley Jones, 85, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2006, in the New Life Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church. Speakers for the service will be Rev. Harold Jaco, Rev. Wayne Chester, Rev. Bobby Beecham and Rev. Walter Droke. Mrs. Jones passed from this life on April 16, 2006 after an illness of six months. She was born at Scotts Hill, in Decatur County, daughter of the late Walt and Lona Norwood Clenney. In 1957 after moving to Jackson from Scotts Hill, Rev. E. J. and Sister Grimsley pastored the Calvary United Pentecostal Church in Jackson until his death in 1981. She then married Rev. Otis Jones of Lexington, TN, where they remained until his death in 2001. She leaves two sons, Jerry Grimsley and wife, Pat, of Union City, TN, and Travis Grimsley and wife, Cynthia, of Jackson, TN; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; several step-children and a sister, Mary Mays of St. Peters, MO.
