He was born Dec. 22, 1922, to Emanuel and Sophie (Schulz) Kuest at Quincy. He was raised and educated in Quincy, Grandview and Odessa, graduating from Odessa High School in 1941. Read More	Irvin David Kuest, 77, a resident of Wenatchee for 42 years, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2000, at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane. He was born Dec. 22, 1922, to Emanuel and Sophie (Schulz) Kuest at Quincy. He was raised and educated in Quincy, Grandview and Odessa, graduating from Odessa High School in 1941. He married Dorothy Kuhlman on Feb. 6, 1944 at Spokane. Mr. Kuest was with the military police and served in the U.S. Army during W.W.II from April of 1944 until his honorable discharge in October of 1945. Following his discharge, he attended the University of Washington and received his B.A. in Business Administration graduating in 1949. For 38 years, he worked as a banker with Seattle First National Bank. He was transferred to the Wenatchee branch from Seattle in 1958 where he continued to work until retiring in Feburary of 1988. Irv had been president of the Wenatchee Lions Club, UGN Campaign Chairman, YMCA Board Member and Sustaining Fund Drive Chairman, Wenatchee Visitor & Convention Bureau Chairman, Wenatchee Sportsman Association Board Member, Apple Blossom Festival Board Member, member of the BPOE, Grace Lutheran Church Council Chairman and a member of Ducks Unlimited. Irv still found time to be an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather and a wonderful, caring friend to many. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of Wenatchee; one son, Brian and his wife Connie of Quincy; one daughter, Lori Farnell and her husband Stephen of Spokane; three sisters, Agnes Smith and Aimee Grim both of Wenatchee; Evelyn Quesinberry of Sunnyside; three granddaughters, Martha, Jennifer and Rebecca Kuest and ten nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 21, 2000, at Grace Lutheran Church with the Rev. Steve Rieke officiating. A reception will follow services at the church. A private family interment will be held at Evergreen Memorial Park. Viewing will be held today until 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until noon at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Grace Lutheran Church, 1408 Washington St., Wenatchee. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
