Description	:	Evelyn Dorothy Quesinberry, age 91, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2009, at Sun Terrace Retirement home lovingly surrounded by her family. She was born October 12, 1917 in Quincy, Washington. Evelyn came from a very large family with 5 brothers and 3 sisters. On May 27, 1938 she married W.D. "Ques" Quesinberry. They had one son, Dennis. The family lived in the Yakima Valley owning a dairy, farming asparagus and finally owning and operating PDQ Realty. After "Ques" retired, they enjoyed spending many summers entertaining friends and family at Twin Lakes, salmon fishing at Westport, WSU football and traveling extensively.... She was born October 12, 1917 in Quincy, Washington. Evelyn came from a very large family with 5 brothers and 3 sisters. On May 27, 1938 she married W.D. "Ques" Quesinberry. They had one son, Dennis. The family lived in the Yakima Valley owning a dairy, farming asparagus and finally owning and operating PDQ Realty. After "Ques" retired, they enjoyed spending many summers entertaining friends and family at Twin Lakes, salmon fishing at Westport, WSU football and traveling extensively. She had a great sense of adventure that led her and W.D. on their trips to the Pacific Rim, Mexico and Hawaii. Evelyn was an avid bowler in her younger years traveling with her league all around the Northwest. She also enjoyed golfing at the Lower Valley Elks. She was a wonderful "self taught" piano player and spent hours playing for her friends and family. Her favorite time of year was Christmas watching her grandchildren and great grandchild open presents. Evelyn had a great sense of style, having her hair done every week was an essential not an option. She had Nordstrom's and then Macy's beauty department on "speed dial" to order her favorite items. She was an active Grandmother and attended many WSU football games with her granddaughter, Michele. She knew more about college football then most men. Evelyn attended the Aloha Bowl with her entire family in Hawaii in 1988. In 1998 she attended the Rose Bowl with her grandson, Bryan and she was able to purchase "upgraded" stadium seats that were on the opposing team's side and she didn't hesitate for a minute to stand up and cheer when WSU made a touchdown. She also took her grandson, Bryan, pheasant hunting after school many times. She was the type of grandmother who would let her grandkids have things that "Mom and Dad" might not buy…which made it all the more exciting. Evelyn was considered a very private person but those that knew her well, understood her humor and wit. She was smart and stayed up on the latest news and world events. She often told her family that she liked to be around "young people" because they kept her feeling young. She appreciated the friends of her grandchildren and often was referred to as "Grandma Q." Evelyn leaves behind her son, Dennis & daughter in law, Marilyn, of Sunnyside, granddaughter, Michele Fitzgibbon (Craig) of Chicago, grandson, Bryan (Teresa), great granddaughter, Elizabeth, all of Spokane and her sister, Aimee Grim of Wenatchee. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, W.D., 5 brothers and 2 sisters. At Evelyn's request there will be no services held. Private family burial will be in the Lower Valley Memorial Gardens Christus Mausoleum under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside.
