B. Stanton, pioneer Colusa county residents, and sister of Mrs. Alva A. King of this city, died at 11 o'clock last night at Oroville, where she had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Jean Keith, for a number of years. Mrs. Ashley was born and reared in Colusa county. She spent her early girlhood in Colusa and gave piano and painting lessons. During the greater part of her life, and until the time of her serious illness, she had been both a composer and instructor of music. She was also intensely interested in church work and had been a member of Veritas Chapter, No. 84, Eastern Star, Colusa, since 1888. Leaves 3 Daughters After her marriage she lived in Chico for a number of years, and for the last several years had lived in Oroville with her daughter. Besides Mrs. Keith, with whom she lived, two other daughters, Mrs. Jack Ballantyne of Los Angeles and Mrs. Lou Coffee of Modesto, also survive. Sisters and brothers surviving are: Mrs. Alva A. King of Colusa, Mrs. R. J. McFadden of Los Angeles, Mrs. W. W. Klose of Napa, J. V. Stanton of Redding, Seawell Stanton of Ontario, Oregon, and J. W. Stanton of Sacramento. Graveside funeral services will be held at Colusa cemetery at 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 12. the body is at the Thomas funeral home in Oroville.
