Description	:	St Paris News Dispatch October 5, 1916 After being confined in the State Hopsital at Columbus for four weeks, Isaac C Dovel died there on Tuesday, October 3rd. He was adjudged insane. On Tuesday, the remains were brought to St Paris and Rev NY Mathews conducted the funeral services today. The interment was in Myrtle Tree Cemetery. On Tuesday, the remains were brought to St Paris and Rev NY Mathews conducted the funeral services today. The interment was in Myrtle Tree Cemetery. Mr Dovel was the son of Charles C Dovel and Elizabeth Dovel, and was born July 2, 1842, in Page Co, Va. He was one of a family of fourteen children. He was a soldier of the Confederate Army; Mr Dovel served with distinction for four years in Co D, 17th Reg Cavalry, under the command of General Lee. Three brothers, Harrison, JM and David served in the same regiment. He was wounded at Welden Railroad in Virginia during a charge. In 1865, Mr Dovel came to Ohio and located near Westville where he resided the rest of his life until he came to St Paris eight years ago. His marriage to Miss Louisa Kite took place July 28, 1868. Four children were born to them, one is dead; those surviving are Mrs EP Kemp, Mrs Asa Taylor and Charles of Denver, CO, four brothers also survive. They are JM Dovel of Quincy, Jacob R Dovel of Pickeringtown, OH, Perry D Dovel of Elco, NV, and Russell T Dovel of Millerstown.
