Roberts of Superior died at the Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital at about 4 p.m., Tuesday as the result of injuries sustained when he slipped and fell down a flight of stairs at a local hotel. The accident occurred shortly after 11 a.m. Mr. Roberts, 81 years of age, was en route from his home at Superior to Grand Island. Roberts of Superior died at the Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital at about 4 p.m., Tuesday as the result of injuries sustained when he slipped and fell down a flight of stairs at a local hotel. The accident occurred shortly after 11 a.m. Mr. Roberts, 81 years of age, was en route from his home at Superior to Grand Island. He had left the bus at the Alexander Hotel and was walking down the basement stairs when he lost his balance and fell. He was taken to the Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital with a fractured skull. He did not regain consciousness. Mr. Roberts had been a resident of Superior for many years. He conducted a community sale barn. Surviving him are three sons: Frank of Wilbur, Wash., Joseph of Wichita, Kans., ad (sic) Bert of Omaha. Mrs. Bert Roberts was summoned to Hastings Tuesday. Her husband was to come here this afternoon. Burial will be at Superior Thursday afternoon. The only service will be at the grave. -- Hastings Tribune. Mr. Roberts was well known to many of older residents here as he at one time was associated in the stock business with Andy Weir in this place and carried on extensive farming.
