Mr. Rush was born in Wayne County, Iowa, August 25, 1896, the youngest son of James Monroe Rush and Stella Hanks Rush. He lived all his life in Wayne County, 44 years were spent as caretaker of the Walden Park. I.G. was untied in marriage to Dollie Marie McCullough August 26, 1915 in Corydon, Iowa and to this union were born seven children, twin daughters, Pauline Anderson and Arlene Hawn; William Rush; Elverda Phillips; Marvin Rush; Wilma Hellyer; Wilbur Rush. He was preceded in death by his wife Dollie, 3 sisters and 4 brothers, 2 infant grandchildren and son-in-law Blair Hawn. I.G. spent most of his time serving others and enjoyed doing it. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 11, at 1:30 p.m. from Wolf Funeral home with Rev. Clifton L. Moser officiating. Music was provided by Kay Peterson, Shirley Both and Betty Greenlee with Ester Lee Wolf, organist. Pallbearers were Paul Stoffer, Gene Petty, Frank Coates, Jr., Keith Weeks, Dwight Shipley and Kenny Baker. Burial was in the Corydon Cemetery.
