Description	:	Isaac was born in Walnut Grove, known as Kelly in the southwest corner of Story County, Iowa. He was the son of Thomas Hugh and Phoebe Jane (Atkinson) Hoy. On June 18, 1888 Isaac married Harriet Elizabeth Plumb, daughter of James Wallace Jr. and Elizabeth (Baker) Plumb. They were married by the Rev. Isaac Atkinson near Baxter, Iowa, Jasper County, Iowa. (The rev. Isaac Atkinson was Isaac Hugh Hoy's Grandfather on his mother's side). There were nine children born to this union. He was the son of Thomas Hugh and Phoebe Jane (Atkinson) Hoy. On June 18, 1888 Isaac married Harriet Elizabeth Plumb, daughter of James Wallace Jr. and Elizabeth (Baker) Plumb. They were married by the Rev. Isaac Atkinson near Baxter, Iowa, Jasper County, Iowa. (The rev. Isaac Atkinson was Isaac Hugh Hoy's Grandfather on his mother's side). There were nine children born to this union. AFter their marriage they moved to Ardmore, South Dakota and lived there until early 1900 when they returned to a farmstead west of Baxter, Iowa. This farmstead became known as the "Hoy Hill". In 1916 his family moved to a farmstead 2 1/2 miles S.W. of Rhodes, Iowa, Marshall County, Iowa. This farmstead soon became known as the "Hoy Farm". There Isaac farmed and was a blacksmith. Isaac and his family made their home on the "Hoy Farm" until 1936 when Isaac and Harriet moved into Rhodes. There Isaac lived out his remaining years. He passed away at his home on January 27, 1941. Isaac had two momorial services: One was at the Methodist Church in Baxter, Iowa at 1:00 PM Thursday January 30, 1941 and later that afternoon at 2:30 PM at the Bethel Church west of Baxter, Iowa. He was buried in the Bethel Cemetery west of Baxter, Iowa, Jasper County, Iowa.
